Cadgwith, Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall, UK.

  • This delightful fishing cove is the subject of two poems by Lionel Johnson (1867-1902). One of these, entitled Cadgwith, can be found in the Oxford Book of Victorian Verse. The other appears in A Cornish Chorus (The Devonshire Press 1948).
  • Cadgwith was filmed during the making of Ladies in Lavender (realeased in 2004). The director was Charles Dance, and the film starred Dame Judi Dench and Dame Maggie Smith. The film is based on the story of the same name by William J. Locke, written in 1916 and published in Faraway Stories.
