Colossal kouros from SounionAthens, NM 2720 Island marble. Original height: 3.05 m. Find-spot: 'Found in 1906, in a deep pit east of the temple of Poseidon at Sounion, together with a torso, fragments of arms, legs and hair, and their bases with feet in addition to the base on which the statue is now mounted' (Richter).
