The Telesterion

Looking to the north-west across the Telesterion towards the hill behind the sanctuary.

Beyond the Telesterion and a flight of steps is 'Temple F', built onto a terrace cut into the hillside. This dates to the Roman period, and was possibly dedicated to Sabina, wife of the emperor Hadrian. The pediment contained small scale sculptures which had been inspired by sculptures from the west pediment of the Parthenon.
